Desktop App — plays 4K directly

The full Sandy Streams app as a real program, with a built-in native player — 4K / HEVC plays instantly with no converting (unlike a browser). Uses VLC or mpv under the hood.

On a Mac, open it the first time with a right‑click. Unzip, drag Sandy Streams into Applications, then right‑click it → Open → Open. Double‑clicking a first time shows “unidentified developer”, for the same reason as below: the app isn’t code‑signed. After that it opens normally.

“Windows protected your PC” is normal & safe. It only means the app isn’t code‑signed (that’s a paid yearly certificate) — not that anything’s wrong. Just click More info → Run anyway. First 4K play will offer to install the free VLC if needed.
Android TV / Google TV / Fire TV

Download the native app (.apk) and sideload it — runs full-screen with full remote support, no browser needed.

On the TV install Downloader (code from the app store) and enter sandy.wiki/downloads/sandy-tv.apk, or sideload via USB. Allow “unknown sources” when prompted.
Samsung and LG TVs can’t use this file. They run Tizen and webOS, not Android, so an .apk will never install — the download works, the TV just has no way to run it. Open sandy.wiki in the TV’s own web browser instead — it switches to the big-screen remote layout automatically. An Android TV stick (Chromecast, Fire Stick) also runs the app above.
Android Phone / Tablet

Download the native app (.apk) — runs full-screen with its own built-in 4K/HEVC player (like the PC app), so playback is smooth and it opens straight from your home screen.

Tap the file to install. When prompted, allow “install unknown apps” for your browser. Updates prompt you in-app — no reinstalling.

📺 Android TV / Google TV: Open this site in Chrome (or the TV Bro browser) → press Install App above, or use the browser menu → Install / Add to Home Screen. It then appears in your TV's apps list.

🔥 Amazon Fire TV: Open Silk Browser → go to the URL → menu → Add to Home / bookmark.

📱 iPhone / iPad: Open in Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen.

🤖 Android Phone: Open in Chrome → tap Install App above, or ⋮ menu → Install app.

🖥️ Samsung (Tizen) / LG (webOS): These TVs can't install the Android .apk — there's nothing to download. Just open the TV's built-in web browser, go to sandy.wiki, and add it to your home screen. It runs right in the browser.

Older LG / Samsung TV won't load the site? Very old TV browsers can be too outdated to run modern web apps. Easiest fix: plug in a cheap Android TV / Google TV stick (or Fire TV Stick) and install the .apk above — or cast from your phone (open sandy.wiki on your phone and cast the tab to the TV).
